Unit Production Requirements Report Induction Assignment Part 1

UNIT 1 Understanding requirements ASSESSMENT ACTIVITY

Choose one of the production projects that you have been working on- most likely a single camera production for Unit 22 or a music video for Unit 29.
You are in the role of production co-ordinator for this project and must plan andproduce a report that describes the requirements and the sources of requirements for the specific media productions that you are undertaking. You should make sure that your report covers all of the following aspects:
1. A description of the type of product you are undertaking
2. An explanation of how it could be financed
3. An explanation of timescale
4. An explanation of personnel
5. An explanation of facilities required
6. An explanation of materials
7. An explanation of contributors to be used
8. An explanation of codes of practice and regulation relevant to the production
Use the questions and exercises in the sections Unit 1.11- Unit 1.18 to generate the report. You can produce a written report if you wish or you can present your report as an audio file or video file.
Grading tips
For a merit grade your report needs to demonstrate good understanding of the relevant issues. These should include the relevant codes of practice, laws and regulations that apply to the production work that you are planning, together with a detailed explanation of where the information can be sourced from. Your report should be clearly and carefully produced and explain in some detail the relevant pre-production requirements for your proposed production and why they are important.
For a distinction grade your report needs to reflect near-professional standards and be fully considered and detailed. It should demonstrate an excellent understanding of the requirements for the proposed production and explain fully why each aspect is required. This includes a full and detailed consideration of the relevant codes of practice, laws and regulations that apply to the production work that you are planning, together with a fully detailed explanation as to where the information can be sourced from.
